Every race, called live

A commentator calls every race you watch or ride: the break, the moves through the field, the battle to the line and the result. Over 500 lines, so the call changes from race to race.

Ride it yourself

Choose Ride Myself and you are in the saddle. Break with the doors, settle, find a clear run, and go for home when the others start to tire.

  • Win the start: tap PUSH in the green to settle your horse, then again to jump

The richest days of the season are run at night: the towers lit, the parade ring under the lamps, and The Champions run after dark.

Bloodlines

Breed your champions

Retire your best mares and send them to stud. Foals take after their parents, and a good one can outrun both. The covering season runs from February to June, and a mare carries her foal for eleven months.

  • The Stud Book: the best stallions in the game, and racing legends with fees up to $500,000
  • Retire a good stallion to stud and earn a fee every time another stable books him
  • Send an old horse to the farm to live out its days
  • Full sire and dam records; close relatives cannot be bred

Build your dynasty

Start with four stalls and grow to twelve. Train, rest, hire a trainer, buy and sell in a living market, and give your jockey orders in the parade ring.

Dress your horses

Give every horse what it needs, and its own look. Try on a hood, a sheepskin shadow roll and leg bandages in 3D, then watch your horse wear them in the parade ring, on the gallops and on race day.

  • Every colour does the same job: the colour is only for looks

Temperament

Every horse has its own character

Most racehorses are calm and need nothing. Others need the right tack to run their race. Each horse's temperament is on its card from the day it arrives, and you are reminded before race day.

  • Calm: needs nothing
  • Nervous: needs a hood
  • Spooky: needs a shadow roll
  • Delicate legs: needs bandages

A nervous or spooky horse raced without its tack runs below its best, and a nervous one makes the start harder when you ride. Delicate legs left bare can pick up a knock. Foals often take after their sire or dam.
